PLEASE VOTE!

So this is my entry for the Music Challenge. The theme I chose to represent Music was "Carpe Diem", also known by awkward 12 year olds on the internet as "YOLO".

Music is everywhere. There are songs and melodies that we associate with life, with death, with love, that inspire us to be the best that we can be. With this design, I drew a literal personification of what I thought "Music" would look like. As you can see, it is represented by an innocent child who holds everything together with the staff. On the right side of the image, we see symbols of life (doves, nature) and on the left side we see symbols of death (grim reaper, scythe, hourglass). These remind us of our common start at life and of our inevitable mortality. In the middle, we see a couple in love sharing headphones/earbuds and listening to a song. Love is a universal emotion, and as such, most of us can easily identify with it. Also, an overwhelming numbers of songs and musical composition were inspired and dedicated to love. The point of the drawing is to inspire people to SEIZE THE DAY in the same way that MUSIC is grasping onto the melody.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun with this piece, even though it was a complete pain in my ascot.

I think this is one of the best I've seen. I like that you have put so much meaning into the design; there is so much substance in it. It's excellent graphic design, but also very meaningful.
